Announcements:

  • Over 1000 references and the taxonomic citations they contain have now been digitized and entered into ASF! Please note that during this initial development stage of ASF, citations for taxon names are for just that, names. Misapplications and misidentifications in the literature are not currently being noted, although these will be added at a later date. If the authorship attribution of a genus or species of Aphididae is missing, you can find it by examining the relevant ASF citation from Remaudière & Remaudière 1997. However, if your favorite species is not listed with its proper authorship, it simply means the relevant published original description is not yet on file. Send a copy to Colin and he will get it entered right away!

Aphid Species File, under development, is a taxonomic and bibliographic database of the aphids and allied groups of the world.

To see information contained in the database, use the links across the top of the page.  Click on Search to find a specific taxon or other kinds of information.  Clicking on Taxa will make the infraorder Aphidomorpha your current taxon unless you have previously moved to a different taxon in this session.

This website and database use Species File Software.  Information about the design and use of SFS may be found on a separate website.
